Today, the Foreign minister Vladimir Norov hosted the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Uzbekistan Hassan Hamza Asad Hashem.

According to the Foreign Ministry, while accepting copies of his credentials, the minister Norov congratulated the ambassador on his posting and wished him success in his responsible position.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Qatari relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed. It was noted that Uzbekistan and Qatar have significant potential for the further development of multifaceted bilateral cooperation.

The parties, noting the enhanced political dialogue, spoke in favor of a significant increase in cooperation in trade, economic and investment areas and considered proposals to strengthen the inter-parliamentary dialogue.

They also exchange views on the schedule of upcoming joint events at various levels, focusing on the advancing cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian and tourism fields.
